Face contouring plasty

Face contouring plasty means correction of the chin, zygomas and cheeks, involving their reduction or augmentation due to using various plastic surgery techniques.

Face contouring plasty may be performed after the final formation of the bone-facial skeleton, i.e. since the age of 23–25.

Main indications to the face contouring plasty are:

• Correction of recessed or excessively plump cheeks;
• Correction of non-pronounced zygomas;
• Cоrrection of non-pronounced mandibular angles;
• Correction of small chin;
• Elimination of a “double chin”

Facial contouring plasty may be performed using the techniques as follows:

• Lipofilling – increase of volume via local injection of a patient’s fat microphages;
• Augmentation (grafting) – increase of volume with silicone grafts;
• Miniliposuction – removal of abundant fat tissue from face and neck;
• Resection of sucking pads - removal of abundant buccal fat tissue

After talking to you and giving you the relevant examination, a doctor will set forth his (her) judgment as to whether it is possible to considerably improve your appearance surgically with high reliability and minimal risks. Any aesthetic surgery involves a certain trade-off. Our specialists will clearly define this trade-off for you and will answer all the questions that may arise.

• In the Medical Club clinic the face contouring plasty is performed under a general anesthesia (narcosis). In some cases an isolated plasty may be performed under a local anesthesia. In such cases the choice of anesthesia is to be agreed upon with a surgeon and an anesthesiologist in advance.
• The duration of operation will depend on its volume, and an operation itself will last from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
• Your stay at the clinic will be a day long, on the average. In the case of performing operation under a local anesthesia, it is possible to leave the clinic on the same day.
• Immediately after the operation a special modeling “Steri-Strip” or “Micropore” plasterer will be applied to the correction area and will remain in place for 2-5 days.
• Sutures are removed at 7-10 postoperative day.
• Approximately in 8-12 days you will be able to resume your usual life.
• You are not recommended to attend sauna and solarium for a month.
• At the early postoperative period a physician-rehabilitator will make up and conduct your personal rehabilitation program, which will shorten your recovery period and improve surgical result.
• An ultimate result of operation may be assessed in 2-3 months.
