Brachioplasty

Brachioplasty (arm lifting) – is a plastic operation aimed at removing the abundant skin formed in the brachial area due to an abrupt body weight loss. The procedure may be followed by liposuction in the area being corrected.

Pronounced brachial deformity seen as hanging flabby skin folds and excessive fat deposits owing to an abrupt body weigh loss make people seek a plastic surgeon’s help in increasing frequency.

The principal goal of brachioplasty is to correct the humeral contours.

It should be emphasized here that the main surgical task is not to create an ideal arm but to achieve a remarkable improvement as compared to the initial condition.

In case of slight skin abundance, it is possible to perform minibrachioplasty where an ellipsoidal incision is made on the inner brachial surface, and the wound edges are mobilized and sutured.

If the brachial skin is in a considerable abundance the classical brachioplastic technique is employed where a “fish tail” incision is made, and a T-shaped scar is formed on the inner brachial surface after the incision closure.

The choice of surgical technique will depend on changes in your humeral area and on how the lipodeformity is pronounced.

Arm lifting is not contraindicated to people having the history of mastectomy or surgery of the axillary lymph nodes.

Should you decide to undergo a plastic operation the Medical Club surgeons will give you a primary consultation.

After talking to you and giving you the relevant examination, a doctor will set fourth his (her) judgment as to whether it is possible to considerably improve the look of your arms surgically with high reliability and minimal risks. Any aesthetic surgery involves a certain trade-off. Our specialists will clearly define this trade-off to you and will answer all the questions that may arise.

  • In the “Medical Club” clinic this operation is performed under a general anesthesia
